Michael Cassels - Bass

Neon Avenue, “Dangerous” Dan Toler, Vinnie Amico

“Back in the 80s I saw a bass player playing a Rickenbacker 3001 through a Peavey guitar amp. He was getting one of the baddest overdriven sounds I ever heard. I tried several pedals and never found that sound. The Expandora gives me the over driven sound that I had been searching for for many years. Finally I have the pedal I always needed.”

Michael Cassels has been a sought after sideman in session musician for over 30 years. Originally from upstate New York, he’s toured and recorded with several groups. He’s worked with “Dangerous” Dan Toler (Allman Brothers, Greg Allman Band), Vinnie Amico (moe.) and many Northeast regional artists. Currently he can be seen performing with Neon Avenue (Grateful Dead tribute). Mike plays Alembic bass guitars.
